Vinyl BMX began as a small scene website that turned into a creative outlet for a small group of friends. It has come a long way since we started. Believe it or not, Vinyl BMX has been around for over five years. The whole project began as a small scene site called "Michiana BMX." After a couple of years, it grew out of the scene as our creativity expanded as well. Kevin Porter and Ryan Melia, two of Vinyl's founding members, came up with the name of "Vinyl BMX" while sipping on some coffee in Chicago's great Earwax diner. Since then, many of us have come and gone, but we are now stronger and ever and have great things lined up for the future. Thanks for always supporting Vinyl!
Vinyl is currently working on a brand new full length video to follow up our 2006 video "The Best of Both Worlds." There is no set release date for the video yet, but it will most likely surface sometime in 2010. Keep checking the Vinyl BMX blog for photos and other snippets about the video.
The current lineup for the video is as follows:
Javier Ortega
Jeremy Muller
Jason Tyrawa
Ryan Melia
Chris Doyle
Chase Zink
Lil Jon
Brian Yeagle
Bobby Delaat
Timmy Theus
Tom Arkus
Kevin Porter
Mark Potoczny
…and friends

Tom is The Bossman of Vinyl BMX and our Pittsburgh transplant. Tom originally started this site (with a few other guys) under the michianabmx.com moniker. Since those days Tom has learned a lot in filming/editing, progressed in his riding and most importantly—gained a lot of life experience. Tom works on fancy arse race cars when he's not riding or scouring the town for the most premium corn on the cob.
Move over Austin Powers, the true International Man of Mystery has arrived, and his name is David Leep. Dave is responsible for the the way Vinyl looks and feels; he likes to keep things under wraps, and that's fine by us. I think our friend Isaac Hoefling described it best: "There's never a time where I don't want to hang out with Dave. He's always awesome to have around." I couldn't have said it much better myself...
Brady Bunch (I know, it's kind of an unoriginal nickname, but it works) makes the Vinyl website run, edits and films videos, snaps some photos and generally does all the stuff that we are too lazy to do. Brady is a talented individual and a welcomed addition to Vinyl. Without him we would wouldn't be able to do a lot of the things you see here... and we've even learned to tolerate his high pitched 12 year old bogan girl laugh.
