Adebisi Shank: This Is The Album Of A Band Called Adebisi Shank LP
I have to give credit to Will Smyth for introducing me to this band: Adebisi Shank. They got the name from the HBO show Oz, incase you are wondering. Adebisi Shank is basically 3 dudes from Ireland: Mick, Lar and Vinny—drums, guitar and bass/noises. Word is they have been inspired/influenced a bit by The Redneck Manifesto; and it shows… somewhat… but add chaos, fury and any other adjectives along those lines and you’ll get an idea of what Adebisi Shank sounds like. Kind of like The Redneck Manifesto did heaps of speed and recorded a record… or maybe At The Drive-In without singing and some added guitar effects… lots of effects… or possibly a little bit of Battles and Lightning Bolt thrown in there too.
Adebisi Shank’s “This Is The Album Of A Band Called Adebisi Shank” clocks in at about 23min. and was produced by J. Robbins, who also produced albums by Jawbone, Clutch, Against Me! and Government Issue— to name a few. The guitar is invariably the music’s focus, but that’s not a bad thing… check out the links below.
